It’s fascinating how, after all these years, cars like this one are still being found parked for 30 or 40 years in a garage or storage facility, covered by a layer of dust so thick it actually protected the bodywork.
That’s the case with this Alfa Romeo 1900 Berlina, a high-end vehicle once chosen by well-off family men who wanted practicality without giving up sportiness or the roar of the engine—in this case, the legendary first-generation twin-cam four-cylinder. Even the color, which appears to be either Bianco or Grigio Biacca (though it’s hard to be certain from the photos), was a typical choice for an Italian sedan of the 1950s.
The first step in bringing this car back to life is to remove the layers of dust it’s buried under. We assume the car is in fairly good condition, although the floor panels should be inspected to make a reliable assessment. The seller states that the car needs restoration and is complete: in one photo the rear seat is clearly missing, but the listing claims it is included. It’s obvious that some repair work is needed, but we would be cautious in stating that a full restoration is absolutely necessary. Find it for sale at €18,600 (today $21,000) here in Pescara, Italy.
