Two sisters: 1963 Ford Thunderbird fastback by Ghia

We didn’t understand much about the history of this car. It is indeed certain that there is another one, on which there is expert consensus that it is a Fastback prototype created by Ghia in 1963, but we didn’t know that there was another one out there.

We don’t know how complete the car is: certainly visible in the photos are the 390 ci V8 engine and the wheels, but for these custom cars, the delicate part is the interior and exterior ornaments often custom-made and impossible to find on the market. They are also very difficult to recreate precisely because it is challenging to have a template to model them on.

The information provided by the seller indicates that the car was built by Italian coachworks Ghia and was part of the Ford Custom Caravan, with one prototype sold to Hollywood actor Dale Robertson. Another car was reportedly built by a Thunderbird specialist in Hollywood. While the seller suggests that the car has significant value, including features like M-code tri-power carburetion, and potential for restoration, it’s crucial to verify all details independently. Interested buyers should conduct thorough due diligence before making any decisions. Find it for sale here in San Diego, CA.
