Every classic car would have many stories to tell, more or less interesting. However, the vast majority of these tales get lost over time because cars cannot speak.
Nevertheless, from time to time, a few stories manage to withstand the test of time. Perhaps it’s not a spy thriller, but it’s still fascinating because it takes us back to customs that have faded with time. This rare 1500 S Coupé, built by the Moretti body shop on the Fiat 1500 chassis, had only one owner, a wealthy lady from Turin who used this car – strictly chauffeur-driven – to go and play Bridge at her friends’ houses. The most bizarre aspect is the choice of a coupe as a car to entrust to a private driver, but tastes are personal, so we’ll take the story as told by the seller.
The car, undoubtedly after the lady’s passing, remained locked away in a garage for 30 years. Once rediscovered, it was purchased by a body shop that completely restored it to its former glory: a beautiful and elegant color combination, rare and not particularly expensive. It’s hard to ask for more. Find it for sale at €35,000 (today $37,000) here in Vinovo, Italy.
