We have never hidden our passion for the Simca 8, and that’s still true even for this particular car which has some special features.
Indeed this is not a common Simca equipped with the inline-four, 1100 c.c. engine derived from the contemporary Fiat unit, but a V8-60 flathead Ford engine installed in 1960 with Eddie Meyer Engineering performance upgrades, all these upgrades are accompanied with several period receipts of a complete engine rebuild at the Meyer shop among several other repairs.
The body is not perfect while showing a good overall gloss appearance and that’s not a bad effect as it gives the car that “experienced” look which is nice: interiors are nice and are characterized by a couple of sports seats: the black plate is also a beautiful touch to this open car which has the best of both worlds. Find it for sale at $78,500 here in Emeryville, CA.
