Update, 20th of may, 2013: The car has been sold at £31,625 (today $48,000).
This 1968 Ghibli 4.7 is said to have been discovered in what seems not a farming barn for sure, but some kind of industrial warehouse. The seller says that the car holds a tax disc expired in 1999, so at least this car doesn’t see a road since then.

This car belongs to the last batch of the early series: it still has toggle switches on the dashboard but at the same time it has Veglia gauges instead of the early Smiths. That kind of burgundy paint should be “Rosso Cordoba”. The automatic three-speeds gearbox is not the best option on this car, but it all depends on what price this car will fetch. The overall look is tired, but we don’t agree with the seller: this car doesn’t seem in need of a total restoration.

The engine should be redone for sure, and a lot of detailing of the engine bay is needed, but this car could be enjoyed after a proper overhauling, instead of a bare metal restoration. Find it auctioned here at Silverstone circuit, UK, with a very pessimistic estimate of £12,000-16,000 (today $16,000-24,000).
