The tuned one: 1966 Giannini 850 Coupé

The Fiat 850 Coupé, launched in 1965 and styled by Bertone, was a compact rear-engined sports car aimed at everyday use with a touch of performance. Giannini Automobili offered tuned versions of the model, modifying both engine and setup.

Giannini’s upgrades included modified cylinder heads, sport exhausts, revised carburation (often with two-throat Weber units), and performance camshafts. Power outputs ranged from around 48 to 60+ horsepower, depending on the version and base engine (843 or 903 cc). They featured enhanced instrumentation, sometimes unique badging, and minor suspension or brake upgrades.

This beautiful example, originally delivered in a distinctive Medium Blue livery with red interior, appears to be in excellent condition. The seller states that the car had only one owner and is registered as a Giannini on the original registration document. The exterior looks flawless, as does the interior, where a beautiful and rare period steering wheel stands out — likely made by the Italian manufacturer Personal. A Fiat collector should not miss the opportunity to acquire this small but rare and highly interesting collector’s item. Find it for sale at €15,000 (today $17,000) here in Spoleto, Italy.
