Green advertiser: 1956 Fiat 1100-103 “Assistenza Michelin” by Fissore

There are cars that, for us, are as hot as these summer days, not because they are particularly valuable or beautiful but because they are rare gems, in this case, probably unique.

This is a “Familiare” version (if you prefer, call it a station wagon or estate) built by the Fissore coachbuilder in Turin on commission from Michelin Italia to provide assistance and simultaneously serve as an advertising vehicle. Fissore was, along with Coriasco, specialized in outfitting commercial vehicles based on Fiat models, and this survivor is a testament to that.

We don’t know from which garage, barn, or cellar this car was pulled out, but the fact is it was saved from the scrapyard many years ago by some hero and evidently rediscovered recently. Although the condition appears good at a quick glance, a deeper analysis reveals that this car harbors a lot of rust for its future owner. Nonetheless, the restoration of this vehicle should be very conservative, meaning repairing the rust from underneath while leaving the bodywork as unaltered as possible, intervening only where absolutely necessary. Find it for sale here in Agliana, Italy, with a buy it now price of €8,499 (today $10,300)
