In the past, we had and restored a 1961 Italia 2000, so we can say we know this car inside out.
Although, truth be told, the production was at such an artisanal level that finding two perfectly identical cars is not an easy task. Many differ in minor details, but unfortunately, in the past, this has been an excuse for some to carry out approximate restorations, taking advantage of the fact that there could be variations on the production line, often based on supplier availability. Just to give you an idea: the car we restored, never involved in an accident, had the right side 2 cm longer than the left side (!)
That being said, this early example has been correctly restored, everything is in its place: the door profiles and handles are correct, as are the seat stitching, external and internal trim. We appreciate that the person who restored the car resisted the temptation of chrome wheels or aftermarket steering wheels. This is one of the visually closest examples to those that left the Vignale headquarters in Turin sixty years ago. Find it for sale at €164,900 (today $180,500) here in Bodegraven, Netherlands. Thanks to Kyle for this tip!
