The base of this car is the Fiat 118 series (the one used for the 1500 and 1600 coupés, to be precise), but the bodywork is substantially different.
As mentioned earlier, for this special spider, the chassis and engine of the 118 series were used, equipped with the twin-camshaft engine produced by Fiat but designed by OSCA, an engine that many know by name but few have had the fortune to drive. We assume that this is an engine elaborated by the Scorpion house, starting from the displacement increased from 1500 to 1600 cc.
The specimen shown here should be one of the three considered not only existing but also produced since it appears that a vintage photo taken at the Abarth factory shows only three specimens, and this one, in particular, is said to have the lowest chassis number. It has been completely restored after being found in Italy about twenty years ago. Find it for sale here in Veggiano, Italy. Thanks to Fluc for this tip!

A bit more then 40 cars have been made in small production series. Still left worldwide maybe 50%, probably less.
