Original to the bone: 1963 Abarth 1000 Bialbero

History comes at a price, especially when associated with beautiful and rare cars like this Abarth 1000 Bialbero.

No introduction is needed for this model, which, along with its factory siblings bearing the scorpion logo (Karl Abarth’s zodiac sign, to be precise), played a leading role in road racing during the 1960s and 1970s, securing victories in both overall and category competitions wherever it competed. This was thanks to its maneuverability, lightness, and the ferocity of its small twin-cam engine, capable of delivering unimaginable power for its displacement (at the time, of course).

However, because these engines were quite radical, they often suffered from breakages, and in subsequent years, they were replaced with units that had nothing to do with the original specifications. This particular specimen seems to have survived the test of time and miles intact: the seller claims it’s a very well-documented car with its original aluminum body, made by Sibona and Bassano. The seller provides little additional information, so if you’re interested, grab a brand expert and inspect it in person. Find it for sale at €195,000 (today $205,000) here in Vicenza, Italy.
