Arabic coffee: 1952 Lancia Aurelia B52 “Rosa d’Oro” by Pininfarina

If we were to condense the history of this car, we could simply write: a very special car for two very special clients.

In fact, it seems that this version of the Lancia Aurelia, called “Roso d’Oro” (Gold Rose), already extremely rare in itself (we saw a second example in person, dark green in color, in Italy a few years ago), was ordered new by an Arabian sheikh (hence the light color choice), while the second was none other than Commendator Bialetti, the father of the Italian Moka coffee pot, known all over the world.

The seller mentions that the car was found in a garage in Imola, Italy, in 1989 and restored according to the factory’s specifications: it was certainly an act of passion, as we’re quite certain that the cost of the restoration undertaken in 1989 was definitely much higher, at the time, than the value of the car. For its aesthetics and rarity, it’s a remarkable specimen. Find it for sale at €159,000 (today $187,000) here in Alcácer do Sal, Portugal.
