1 of 32: 1957 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider Veloce

Generally speaking, the Giulietta Spider needs no introduction as it is one of the icons of the world of classic cars, along with a few others such as the Jaguar E-Type, the Porsche 356, the VW Beetle or the ’59 Cadillac Eldorado.

Yet some Giuliettas are more Giulietta than others, as in the case of the very few Veloces produced in 1957, of which this one is one. There are discordant numbers on the Veloces produced in ’57, some of which were inactive even in December ’56, but the consensus remains on the 32-35 examples produced in its first year and, as we know, these are numbers that count for collectors .

No wonder therefore the values that this car has reached in recent years, especially if benefiting from top restorations as this car has received. Keep in mind that, unlike 10-15 years ago, now even restoring an Alfa well costs a lot and you can consider yourself lucky if, in the event of a resale, you manage to recover the money spent. This car (chassis AR1495*02264) is said to be a numbers matching example (we didn’t doubt it) and has just come out of a fully documented restoration. Apart from the gaskets behind the central and lateral grille (which must not be in sight), there is little to complain about, the photos speak for themselves. Find it for sale at $175,000 here in Philadelphia, PA.
