It’s original once: 1968 Lancia Flavia 1.8 Coupé by Pininfarina

The series “It’s original once” continues with this Lancia Flavia Coupè, one of the latest specimens pushed by the 1800 c.c. engine fed by a Kugelfischer MFI. It seems that a little more than 2,000 cars were made with this configuration.

No later than five years ago, a friend of mine told me “keep an eye on the Flavia Coupé” ,when even a top specimen didn’t cost more than 10k: I must admit that he was very right because I’ve seen the prices of these constantly growing year by year.

This particular car looks a stunning survivor: original black plate, interiors, probably the paint too is the first one as it looks a bit faded, on the other side the chrome (or the stainless steel, we don’t know) looks great. The seller says that the car had two owners and 75,000 original kms. Unfortunately there are not more detailed photos. Find it for sale at €20,000 (today $23,600) here in Pescara, Italy.

  1. I think your friends sentiments still hold true. i admit to being a little ignorant about the full details of these cars but they’re such a handsome design with the typical interesting Lancia engineering that i feel like buying one now at this price will still prove to be a great investment once more people “discover” this car.

  2. I think most people would be surprised about their handling and effortless driving in daily traffic.

Its not great investments, unless its the Zagato version, but having done three 5000km trips in Norway and the alps with mine, doing 140-150 on the autobahn when the traffic allowed, i can attest that its a bargain GT
