“Mostro” in italian means monster: this was the nickname given by Abarth to the OT 2000, a Fiat 850 with widened rear wings and equipped with an Abarth twin cam, 2000 c.c. engine.
The “Mostro” was a one-off car (now in a private collection in Japan) but it unleashed the fantasy of many: who built this car has clearly taken the inspiration from the riginal car and so this one, although different from the Mostro, is equipped with a twin cam, 2000 c.c. engine built by Fiat-Abarth.
The engine is fed, of course, by a coupe of twin throat carburetors and it is said to have been properly tuned, we guess that it could produce at least 140 h.p. which are a lot on a car as big as a shoe. Interiors have been rebuilt using a Jaeger instruments cluster, an Abarth wheel and period correct race seats. Of course this job isn’t cheap: find it for sale at €48,000 (today $55,000) here in Ferrara, Italy.
