Euro muscle: 1978 Porsche 928

The 928 has always been the Cinderella of the Stuttgart brand, perhaps because it was too ahead of its time when it was marketed. Yet, according to everyone who has driven it, it is an exceptional car.

This particular example is the purest of the series, without the rear spoiler introduced with the S version. It features the 4.5-liter engine producing 241 horsepower. That may not seem like much, but in 1978, such power was the domain of Ferrari and Lamborghini. Not to mention that its displacement provided significantly more torque for the same power output.

Many of these cars can be found for sale (relatively speaking), but very few like this one. Few enthusiasts take on a restoration of this model, often financially impractical, yet the owner of this car did, and the result seems remarkable. The car looks stunning, from the green-on-green color scheme to the flawless interior and an engine bay that appears as if it belongs to a brand-new vehicle. The only drawback, if it can be called that, might be the presence of the automatic transmission, and yet in this car, it actually makes sense. Find it for sale at €47,000 (today $51,000) here in Ariano nel Polesine, Italy.
