This Abarth 1000 Bialbero chassis Tipo 129 is said to be the last of the 15 “long nose” made, designed by Mario Colucci for the Sibona & Basano body shop in Turin.
The engine is said to be the Type 229 B “wet sump right rotation”, the latest evolution of the 1000 twin cam engine powered by two huge double throat carburettors, the engine that drives this rare car sold new in France to the Abarth importer, as well as friend founder’s staff. Right from the start this car competed until 1977, when it retired but always kept with care.
Basically it has had three owners, the last one in the last 50 years, and it would still have been for a long time if he hadn’t passed away in 2020. Certainly this is one of the best documented cars we have had the opportunity to observe , the seller has posted dozens of photos not only of the car, but also of the documentation in which there are correspondence between the owners and the Abarth and Osella companies, as well as photos of the engine reconstruction that took place in Italy. Find it for sale here in Castel Mella, Italy. Thanks to Fluc for this tip!
