Years ago (yes, it gets old) we found another 1955 Karmann Ghia and haven’t seen one for sale since, until today.
We had decided that it deserved to be published as, apart from its ratty look, it is not every day to find one for sale belonging to the first production batch, unfortunately most of these cars have not survived the tests of time, but We knew there had to be more out there, so here’s another one.
The seller says this is the oldest example in Italy (very likely, also in our opinion) and one of the 10 oldest in Europe. The car was manufactured in December 1955 so it has the original black number plates from 1956 when it was actually registered. I’m not familiar with the chassis numbers and production numbers of this model, but we assume this is a very interesting example (although there is no asking price which we imagine will be spicy). Find it for sale here in Ravenna, Italy.
