The 700 series was the car which, back then, saved BMW from bankruptcy: first showed in 1959 at the cost of D.M. 4,760 (few more than $1000) and the fuel consumption of 47 m.p.g. it can be considered the first (and maybe only) BMW produced for the mass: it was a Giovanni Michelotti job which designed this car to accomodate a rear flat twin engine with a displacement of 700 c.c.

The seller doesn’t say the year of the car but the black plate is from 1963: in such year the LS model received a 12.6″ longer body but the coupé remained the same. However, apart from the year, this car looks sharp and it seems to need only to be driven. Cloth looks superb as well as the dashboard.

The seller says that this car has benefitted of a restoration and for sure interiors and chrome show it; we were curious to watch a picture of the engine bay but, looking at the car, we are pretty sure that it should be more than acceptable. Find it for sale at €7,500 (today $10,000) here in Parma, Italy.
