Desert coupé: 1967 Intermeccanica Omega

Crafted by Intermeccanica of Turin, Italy, known for its exquisite coachwork and meticulous attention to detail, this sports car embodies a unique blend of aesthetics and performance, not to mention the easy maintenance.

After its initial assembly in Italy, the Omega was shipped to the United States to be completed by the legendary racing team Holman & Moody, known for their expertise in enhancing performance vehicles. This collaboration ensured that the Omega was not just beautiful but also a powerhouse on the road. Under the hood, the Omega features robust American machinery—a Ford 302 cubic inch V8 engine paired with a 4-speed top loader transmission equipped with a Hurst shifter and a durable 9-inch rear end, ensuring it delivers performance that matches its striking appearance.

Adding to its allure, this particular Omega was the personal driver of Steve Wilder, a name many car enthusiasts might recognize from Road & Track. Its provenance is further enriched by a Wimbledon White exterior that contrasts elegantly with its black and grey interior, making it a standout at any car show or collector’s garage. The car has undergone a meticulous older restoration that has been well-documented with a large file of documentation and restoration receipts, largely contributed by an original Holman & Moody employee. Nonetheless, this car has for sure some rust issue as you can see, the lid has rust bubble and that means that there is even more rust elsewere. The front bumer doesn’t look correct and there are no interiors photo. Anyway with only 33 examples ever produced before the end of its production in 1969, the Intermeccanica Omega remains one of the rarest and most sought-after classic cars in the market. Find it for sale at $75,000 here in El Cajon, CA. Thanks to Kyle for this tip!
