We are familiar with this car, which also has a sister in the USA with nearly identical features, except for the color and some subtle differences in the shape, which make this last one more slick.
While the American sister appeared on an eBay auction about ten years ago and has since been restored and sold (at a high price) by Gooding in 2018, this car has always been in Italy, and as far as we know, this is the first time it has been put up for sale in the last ten years, and perhaps even longer. To date, no other Fiat 1100 with this special bodywork is known.
This car, aside from exuding a strong sense of originality, also comes with its original black license plates, although they may not be visible in this listing. We don’t know if it has been restored in the past, but its bodywork is so ‘special’ that it likely hasn’t gone unnoticed in the last 60 years and has been carefully preserved. However, we doubt that the paint is still the original coat, a touch-up is not out of the question. What remains certain is that, for collectors of a certain caliber of Italian cars, this vehicle is an extraordinary addition to any collection. The price? Available upon request, of course. Find it for sale here in Reggio Emilia, Italy.

While I almost always like the styling on Vignale bodied cars, the center grill and black ovals housing the headlights don’t do justice to the great lines of the rest of the car. It’s as if the front of the car started to melt & sag due to gravitational pull. The forward angle on the leading edge of the front fenders doesn’t match the rest of the car. The front turn signal lights appear to have been a last minute addition
In my opinion the overall look of the car suggests one person designed the front of the car, and another designer worked on the remaining parts of the car.
