Two stroke stash: A DWK collection for sale

If you are a fan of German classic cars and DKW in particular, this is a unique opportunity.

In fact, it is a DKW collection which also includes very popular, highly sought-after vans. In particular, the vehicles on sale are the following (we report the list as made by the seller):

1953 DKW F91 Convertible VIN 64500013

1955 Sonderklasse 2-Door VIN 66561927 with CO title

1958 DKW Kombi Window Van VIN 22519477

1957 DKW Window 8 Seat Bus (curved rear corner windows) VIN 22508026

1958 DKW Window 8 Seat Bus (curved rear corner windows) VIN 22512196 with CA title

There are some important considerations to make. It’s true, all these vehicles need to be restored but it should be kept in mind that the Cabriolet is one of the very first to be produced as it actually has chassis number 13, in this sense there is a letter from Audi Tradition on the matter:

“This car is the eldest existing F 91 4 Seater convertible! It was built in March 13th, 1953 in Dusseldorf and sold to the Auto Union in Frankfurt. There the Auto Union presented this car to the public at the “IAA” in March 1953 , this is the International Automobile Exhibition. Enclosed you find the historical data sheet on this car…So your car is in the original condition (colour, etc.). It was never restored. So it has a very interesting history. What happened with it after IAA is not registered but it could be that an American dealer or client bought it directly at the Exhibition. So it MUST be restored!!”

Then there are the vans, with windows all around, very rare, and finally there is – actually – a container full of spare parts. Find all of them for sale at $43,500 here in Woodlake, CA.

  1. As someone who has owned several DKW vehicles including a 1958 Munga 4X4, 1959 1000SP Bauer Coupe, and a 3=6 hardtop, If the parts inventory was put together with restoring the 5 vehicles in mind, this might be a very reasonable price.

The cabrio alone, if restored correctly, may well sell back to Europe at a nice profit The 8-seat vans, if structurally sound, are actually becoming very collectible and prices are rising. Those curved rear windows are hard to find, so It’s important that they are included.

a Sale of everything to one buyer is likely going to come down to an inventory of the parts in the container, and if the container is included.
