This ’65 Porsche 912 has been chosen not beacause of its extraordinary conditions but for its odd paint job which, in the mind of the former owner (or painter) should have reminded a sunrise. Giving an evaluation of the final outcome is up to you: however, it’s a real head turner. Also the “Sunrise” writing is well done, using a stencil with the correct Porsche fonts used for “Carrera” on later cars. Rims are nice but we would have seen period tires fitted on them.

This is an early 912 so the dashboard has three clocks. Seats are not original and the dashboard trim isn’t neither, but these details are not a big issue.

Engine is said to be matching numbers with the car and that’s a good thing. The seller says also hat the car has not rust issues (it’s a former Texas car, we hope it’s a former western Texas car!), however there is some work needed on floor pans. We love scruffy Porsche and this car is a good representative of them. Find it for sale at €16,950 (today $22,000) here in Renkum, Netherlands.
