A special one: 1951 Bristol 401 by Beutler

We have known the coachbuilder Beutler for his creations based on Porsche and Volkswagen, but never for an English car.

Certainly, we are not talking about a utility vehicle but a Bristol 401, one of the most expensive English cars of its time. The commission for this particular car (chassis #892) came from Sir Ernest Fernando, the Chairman of the Bogala Graphite Mining Company in Ceylon (now Sri Lanka), who commissioned a special body based on a chassis supplied by Bristol. Upon his death, this Beutler crossed continents in the opposite direction to return home in 1960, where it was equipped with a Bristol series 110 engine by one of its owners since 1968, Brian May.

The seller states that the car is essentially fully restored, although some finishing touches are still missing: it is clear that the door panels have been removed for some kind of adjustment, but the rest of the car appears to be in excellent condition (at least from what is seen in the photos). In particular, we really like the aeronautical-style dashboard, which looks like a genuine control panel. Find it for sale at £99,500 (today $122,000) here in Warminster, UK. Thanks to Kyle for this tip!
