La dolce vita: 1951 Fiat 1400 Coupé by Farina

This car still retains its original ‘Roma’ black license plate, so it is highly plausible that it has lived in the Eternal City from when it was new.

Therefore, it has witnessed everything: if we want to use definitions linked to the cinema (Rome has been one of the main centers of world film production since the end of the Second World War), it lived the era of Neorealism through the ’60s of La Dolce Vita, up to the late Spaghetti Westerns of the mid-’70s. All periods that this car has lived through, surviving unscathed and arriving into our sterile technological era.

We cannot provide an accurate assessment of the car’s condition; however, the seller states that it has been restored in line with the period’s specifications. Indeed, at first glance, everything appears correct. The car also seems complete, although it would be very difficult to ascertain given the uniqueness of these vehicles produced in very small series. Nevertheless, the colors are contemporaneous with the car. This car deserves to be seen by as many people as possible rather than being kept locked away in a garage. Find it for sale at €65,000 (today $70,000) here in Roma, Italy.
