When, in 1961, Simca managers decided to give an aggressive looks to their new little coupé, the name which came in their mind was, of course, Bertone. We think that – with all the due respect to Farina brothers, Vignale and Ghia – the most beautiful and dramatic cars made during the period between the 1935 and the 1975 came out from Bertone coachworks, even because it was the schools of design geniuses like Franco Scaglione and Giorgetto Giugiaro.

Indeed it’s hard to design a better car like this which, must me remembered, was an economy sports car made of simple but effective platform. The 1200S in the 1967 version produces 80 h.p. with a top speed of 170 km/h (110 m.p.h.), and you can’t ask more than that to a car like this. This particular car is said to have benefitted of a new paint and engine rebuild, interiors are said to be still original and, the overall look, is very elegant and sporty at the same time. This cool cocktail is for sale at €15,000 (today $17,000) here in Auneuil, France.
