1 of 7: 1960 Seat 1400 Cabriolet by Serra

We always experience a pleasant sense of amazement when we come across a car whose existence we were not aware of, as was the case with this Seat convertible brought to our attention by our reader Kyle, whom we thank for the tip.

The brand itself, especially outside of Europe, is little known. Added to this, this vehicle is part of a very limited series of four-headlight convertibles – as the seller states – with only seven units produced (plus an unregistered prototype). Furthermore, the seller mentions that this car had a single owner before being stored in a garage for many years before seeing daylight again.

The engine appears – though we cannot guarantee it – to be derived from the Fiat 1400 produced from the early 1950s. The engine bay seems worn but in order, the interiors are also complete, and in fact, the only thing that seems to be missing, apart from the hubcaps, are the side trims on the exterior of the body: they are undoubtedly unavailable and need to be remade from scratch. On the other hand, we were not familiar with the Pedro Serra bodywork, who, in addition to this car, has worked on significant cars such as Aston Martin and Pegaso. Find it for sale at £35,000 (today $43,000) here in Valencia, Spain.
