Yes, this is one of the longest auctions we’ve ever seen: it would last 19 days (but it’s still up since three days) and that’s about a Giulietta Spider 750F (chassis Ar1495*03911), commonly known as Veloce.
This is one of the find of mr. Rapley who’s used to find special italian cars, and also ths one belongs to the breed he knows well. That’s a driver which has its engine replaced with a type 536 from a GT Sprint Veloce: one of the best Alfa engine ever but, unfortunately, not the more valuable type 106 which is the original equipment.
There is rust, of course, but this is not the usual bucket of rust you often see for sale: there are some correct parts for a Veloce like the instruments and some other bits. So the biggest problem to ace here is to find the correct engine and, more than that, the correct carburetors which are extremely expensive: put on the table at least $20,000 for the correct setup but, at the end of the day, this car is definitely worth it. Find it for sale here in New Milford, CT, with bidding at $38,500 and reserve not met.
