Temporarily barchetta: 1963 Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider

This Giulia Spider is actually missing the bumpers and the windshield, so looking pretty much like the Giulietta Spider barchetta driven by Consalvo Sanesi at the 1956 Mille Miglia.

Unfortunately this particular car isn’t that Giulietta but a Giulia: bumpers and windshield will not come with the car as they are lost somewhere, however the car has an engine and a transmission along with many other parts not actually listed so it could be a good starting point for a restoration project.

What we can’t understand is if the engine is the original one or not: for sure the valve cover comes from a later twin spark engine (maybe an Alfa 75/Milano) but, without an engine type shown, we can’t assert anything about it. Another sure thing is that the head is not original: the front eyelets on the head came from 1967 so that can’t be an head from 1963. Other than these things, the car looks solid and quite complete and, more than everything, the price looks right for the car. Find it for sale at $17,500 here in Los Angeles, CA.
